3.1.1 Configure for a Testbed

This page explains how to configure the dashboard for use with a complete testbed deployment. You should perform these steps once for each new provisioned testbed before use.

Launch the Testbed Dashboard
  1. Once your dataspace is launched, click the Dashboard button to open the built-in dashboard. If you see a connection warning, select proceed.

  2. You will be presented with the dashboard landing page and a setup wizard to guide you through the key configuration steps.

Configure your Testbed CA Authority

Before you can use your testbed or add external connectors, you must configure your testbed’s CA and DAPS to trust external dataspace components. As the testbed service relies on self-signed SSL certificates for trust, a certificate generation function has been included in your dashboard to facilitate this process. Follow the steps below to regenerate your CA authority.

Warning

If this step is not performed upon first launching a testbed, only the localhost connectors will be trusted. Any external connector added will be refused by your DAPS and MDB.

  1. Navigate to the Settings page of your dashboard from the left navigation:

    settings settings

  2. Under Generate Certificates, ensure Full Testbed is selected and enter the public IP address of your testbed. You can find this in your browser’s address bar when visiting your testbed dashboard, or directly from the Testbed Platform under Connect –> Use this SSH Key, and inferring it from the public DNS address. Select Generate Now.

  3. Select Continue when prompted. Wait approximately one minute and refresh your browser. You will receive another security prompt, as your dataspace identity will have changed. This is normal and indicates the process was successful.

Further information on using the certificate generator can be found here.

The certificate generation process is outlined here.

You can now return to the main dashboard and follow the setup wizard to configure your dataspace components.
